Bruce McAlpine
B. Eng., MBA, CPC
President

Bruce McAlpine, MBA, CPC, is President of Fulcrum Search Science Inc. He has "worked a desk" and managed the executive search practice since 1988.

Bruce is very active in the national associations of the recruiting industry, serving on national boards for over 10 years. He is a past President of both ACSESS, the Association of Canadian Search, Employment & Staffing Services and APPAC, the Canadian national Association of Professional Placement Agencies and Consultants. He is the current chair of the ACSESS Ethics Committee and leads the Professional Search Practice Special Interest Group of ACSESS. He is also a national trainer for the industry certification program.

He is a recipient of the ACSESS Leadership Award, and the discretionary ACSESS Award of Excellence for "outstanding leadership and exemplary commitment" to the industry in Canada.

In the '80's, Bruce was President of Marketing Systems Inc., providing marketing consulting and program support to clients like Kodak Canada Inc., the Royal Bank of Canada, Canada Post, and Marine Midland Bank in the U.S.A. He also worked for Xerox Canada Inc. for six years in sales and marketing. In the '70's, he held command roles on three continents as an army officer with the Francophone Royal 22nd Regiment.

He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, and has also taught business-related subjects at the University of Toronto and at Primorski State University in Russia. He is an active marathoner, with a goal of running a marathon on all seven continents - 6 down and 1 to go! He is also active in several Christian charitable organizations, serving at the Board and operational levels.

Cathy Cheng
Human Resources Administrator

Cathy has been working in the search industry since 1995. Her roles have ranged from administrative support and technical recruiting to her present administrator role. Her love of human resources and organizing others makes her an ideal team member in a chaotic and busy search firm. Cathy has a HBA from York University, Glendon College and a certificate of Human Resources Management from Ryerson Polytechnic University. She is currently pursuing her CHRP designation.

Cathy is dedicated to professional development and enjoys taking courses and learning new things. Cathy takes pride in her work and strongly believes in customer service, be it internally or externally.

When asked why she enjoys working for Fulcrum, Cathy has indicated that the positive environment, the team and professional work ethics so apparent here make Fulcrum stand out from the pack.

Silvio Rossi
CPC
Vice President

Silvio Rossi, CPC, has been in the recruitment and search industry since 1988. In 1995, Silvio joined Fulcrum Search Science Inc. and became instrumental in setting up the Technical, Supply Chain and Logistics practice. In his role as a Sr. Consultant with Fulcrum he has managed the full life cycle search process in the areas of supply chain, operations, logistics, procurement & sourcing at the mid-senior level. Silvio's current success rate stands as one of the strongest in the industry. He has continued to demonstrate his success through winning the Fulcrum Search Science "Consultant of the Year" award in 2004.

His client base spans consumer goods (food, pharmaceutical, healthcare), chemicals, industrial products & distributors, and transportation.

He is an active member of CALM (Canadian Association of Logistics Management) and PMAC (Purchasing Management Association of Canada), and the Toronto Transportation Club. Silvio has also been a guest speaker at various CAPIC & PMAC meetings and seminars within the GTA and surrounding GTA. In addition, he has written several articles for the Canadian Logistics & Transportation Magazine and Materials Management Magazine.

Silvio's success comes from his straightforward, honest approach and his candidness towards his clients and candidates combined with his encyclopedic memory, and knowledge base.

On a personal level, he is an avid baseball and hockey fan and a huge movie buff. His greatest joy is spending time with his family and new baby, Nicholas, and his friends.

Chris Twigger
Vice President
Industry Specialty: Sales & Marketing

Chris Twigger is a Vice President with Fulcrum Search Science Inc. He has over 30 years in the staffing industry focusing on client development. He has worked in U.K.,. Canada and California, where he successfully built his own staffing services company. Since joining the team in 1993, he has worked with companies from a wide range of industries and has been instrumental in successfully developing many of our largest clients. Chris has a strong customer orientation towards both our clients and our candidates and he strongly believes that our value lies in our ability to provide consultative and customized solutions.

On a personal note, Chris is an outdoors person and enjoys running, cycling, and physical fitness. He has been involved in a number of volunteering programs and most recently has been instrumental in building an outreach program for one of Toronto's Detention Centers.

Joe Braccia
Senior Consultant

Joe Braccia, Senior Consultant with Fulcrum Search Science Inc., has been in the professional and executive search industry since 1999. He specializes in the broad areas of Engineering and Technical Operations. Joe is a search specialist who has built process improvement teams for multi-national companies. He has assisted companies in reducing costs by searching out candidates trained in the latest lean theologies. Joe has also found key personnel to manage plant operations by searching for plant managers and general managers for many Canadian and American companies across various industries. Joe does not focus on any one specific area in manufacturing, but covers the whole range of management headhunting.
