STOP
APPLYING FOR JOBS YOU ARE TOO GOOD FOR!
As we begin to pull out of a slow market, I find many candidates applying for positions they are overqualified for. No matter how eager you are to be back in the workplace, never take a position that is less then your previous one. Doing so will put you at a disadvantage in better times when you try to get back to where you were. Also, clients are wary of hiring down as candidates do not tend to stay for long periods of time as most see it as a temporary solution to their employment situation. Finally, taking a lower position is usually accompanied by more money. This is another factor in the clients mind as it refers to retention and will also deter clients from hiring you. The solution, be
patient and persevere in you job search. |
