Doug
MacLeod - Barrister & Solicitor
In 1983, Doug graduated from the Business
School at the University of Western
Ontario with an honours degree in
business administration or an HBA.
In 1987, he graduated from Queen's
University law school and received
his LLB in March 1989; Doug was called
to the Ontario Bar, which meant Doug
was qualified to practice law in Ontario.
In
1987-88, Doug articled with the Bay
Street law firm, Osler, Hoskin &
Harcourt. Doug spent his time at Osler's
doing legal research, drafting employment
contracts, reviewing corporate transactions
from an employment perspective, and
writing draft opinion letters on various
employment law and labour relations
issues.
In
1990, Doug joined the labour department
at the well-regarded litigation firm,
Genest, Murray, DesBrisay, Lamek.
He divided his time about equally
between employment and labour law.
At Genest, Murray, Doug continued
to provide oral and written advice
on the full range of employment and
labour law issues.
At
the beginning of 1991, Doug was seconded
from Genest, Murray to the provincial
government for three months. After
this secondment, He returned to Genest,
Murray Doug continued his labour and
employment law practice.
In 1993, Doug started his own labour
and employment law practice. He continues
to provide advice and representation
to employees and employers on the
full range of employment and labour
law issues.
